Sometimes you just need a dose of marshmallow fluff. This is not something in our regular rotation, but it’s sure a happy day when I pull it out of the pantry, because it almost always means fruit dip.
There are many life lessons learned from going away to college. MANY life lessons. Luckily, for me this included some awesome recipes from my roommates’ archives of family favorites. One that has stuck with me for the twelve years since graduating college has been a fruit dip recipe that I got from my roommate’s mom. It is super simple, but delicious!
This is a perfect recipe to use when you are just starting to get your kiddos involved in the kitchen. Two ingredients. No knives, no heat, no measuring. Plus, this is a super quick recipe so they don’t lose interest.
All you have to do is whip some softened cream cheese until light and creamy. (I use the paddle attachment on my Kitchenaid stand mixer.)
Add a small jar of marshmallow fluff and continue to mix until well combined. (If cooking with kids, you might want to help your little chef scrape out the jar. That fluff is good to the last drop!) Make sure you mix until you don’t have any big chunks of cream cheese. That’s not a happy surprise around here.
Chill until ready to serve.
It really doesn’t get much simpler than this, and I will take this fruit dip over any other kind. Any day.
