Where Are You, Stephanie?

Where are you, Stephanie?

I don’t know how many of you check my blog on a fairly regular basis.  All I know is that, if you do, you might notice a couple of days here and there when it seems a little quieter around the blog.  Sometimes I’ll explain why it’s been quiet.  Other times I won’t.  This is why I will never be a “successful” blogger; word on the street is that consistent publishing is KEY.  Fancy that!  🙂

But here’s the thing:  I don’t know about you, but my life isn’t always consistent and predictable. No matter how hard I try.

I have a pretty strict guideline for myself about when I will blog, and most of the time it works out quite nicely.  There are particular hours in the day that I set aside time to work on the computer, just like I would do with any hobby.  It keeps my hobby from taking too much time away from the rest of my life.  But there are times when things overlap and my family needs me during my “blogging hours.” Since family comes first, I set the laptop aside.  No question.

It just so happens that this was a rough week for my little ones.  There was a “disturbance in the force”, if you will:  Difficulty sleeping, emotions running high, unresolved stress about the move, you name it.  The kids needed a little TLC this week, so I circled the wagons and, as a result, the blog was put on the back burner.  I knew you all would understand.

The whole premise of this blog is to document how I save time on the mundane in order to savor the memorable; I am on a quest to savor these fleeting moments of young motherhood.  I would feel like such a hypocrite if I put off the needs of my family just to keep up with my blog posting schedule, (ironically) writing posts about savoring time with family.  Consistency would be great, but authenticity is way more important to me.  We keep it real around here.

So, the next time you notice a slight hiccup in my rate of postings on the blog, you will be safe to assume that it is probably because my family needed me in one way or another.

Or I passed out, exhausted, before hitting “Publish.”  (Because cancer fatigue is still a thing around here, too.)

Thanks for sticking with me, my friends.  I am knee-deep in preparations for the blog next year and it’s going to be SO MUCH FUN around here.  I am so excited for 2018!

P.S.  Even if I am not publishing new blog posts, I often try to check in on one social media platform at least once a day.  Sometimes that might give you a clue about what’s going on in my little world.  You can now find me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.
