As I mentioned in my post this morning, the past few months have passed by in a BLUR.  But I was able to make some headway on some of my goals for 2018.  Here’s an update:

My goals for 2018

Shortly after finishing cancer treatment, as I pulled out a blank notebook for my weekly meal plan and grocery list like I did every Saturday, I had an epiphany: I have gone through so much in an effort to extend my life, why am I spending so much of it at the grocery store?!

As I mentioned in my last update, I made some major progress toward this goal but then took on a new diet.  I need a little bit more time to get used to my new meal plans before trying to do once-a-month-grocery-shopping again.  I’m excited to make it work!

Sorry Mel…I failed you! I’m still feeling the guilt.  Although, I have managed to keep one of those “living herbs” alive in my kitchen windowsill for the past month.  I’ll take it!

What tasks are you working on to get your garden ready for fall and winter?  I’d love to hear about it!

The premise behind this blog is how to save time on the mundane.  I don’t know about you, but one of the mundane things that takes the MOST of my time is tidying up the house, which is basically just moving junk from one spot to another.  So I have been trying the KonMari method of tidying up my house this year.

I am still stalled in the clothing department for some reason, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!  We recently went through THREE FULL TOTES of costume clothing and we were able to pare it down to one  We’re getting there!

If you haven’t yet read “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up“, I would highly recommend it!  The picture above is a link to purchase/download or you can find it here.

Beachbody and I are still BFFs.  I have lost close to 20 pounds and I am about 7 pounds away from the weight I was when I was first diagnosed with cancer.  Once I hit that milestone, I have about 10-15 more pounds to lose and then I’ll be satisfied. And here’s a little secret between me and you:  My back rolls are already gone!  Whoo hoo!!

I have already noticed a HUGE difference in my energy level and the amount of soreness I was feeling day-to-day.  It’s amazing how much older your body can feel when it is lugging around a bunch of extra weight.  I just had a reconstruction-related surgery a few days ago (more on that soon), so I am a little nervous to see what happens to my weight while I recover from this surgery.

So there you have it!  I feel like I’m back on track with most of my goals for 2018.  With two months left in the year, how are YOU doing with your goals?  I’d love to hear about it!
