Since this is the last day of the year (and decade!), I thought I should take a quick look back at the most-read posts on Mommy Standard Time in 2019.
I do this for a couple of reasons.
First, I do it for ME.
It helps me to see what you all are interested in reading about. This helps me know what I should be writing about in the coming year.
Second, I do it for YOU.
Writing this post gives me a chance to show you what other people are enjoying in the archives of the blog. Some of these are older posts that you might have missed the first time around.
Just like last year’s list, I’ll work my way backwards to the top post. I’m also going to make it a true Top Ten this year (David Letterman would be so proud):

MEAL PLANNING WITH DINNER THEMES
Taco Tuesday, anyone??
Lots of people on Pinterest enjoyed this list of over 30 dinner themes that provide meal planning motivation when you’re feeling stuck. (Meatless Monday, etc.)

HOW TO CONTROL A FIRETV STICK WITH YOUR TV REMOTE
This article solves a VERY specific problem and it is something that I discovered after a previous move.
Before we moved, we had lost the remote to our FireTV stick and had just been using our phones to control it (using the app).
The problem? When we moved, the FireTV stick was searching for our OLD WiFi signal and we could not get it to respond to our phones, which were working on the NEW WiFi signal. We couldn’t reset the WiFi settings without a remote, so we were STUCK.
Check out this post to see how I quickly solved the problem and got rid of the small remote stress for good!

VIPKID FEEDBACK TIME SAVER
I’m still teaching with VIPKid and this is still one of my most popular VIPKid-related posts.
I love using these handy little sheets for taking notes during my VIPKid class. Check out this post to see how I made them (and why I like them so much).

MY SECRET FOR THE MOST ORGANIZED MOVE EVER
I did a companion post to this one, since the app that I discuss in this specific post is no longer free.

365 DAYS OF CANCER
You’re going to see a lot of cancer-related posts in the top five. Honestly, it makes me sad that these are the most sought-after articles on my blog. But I am so grateful that people all over the world are finding information and comfort in what I share about my cancer journey.
This post contains a video where I took one photo every day for the year I fought breast cancer. Check it out here.

THE 60-SECOND BOW
This post SKYROCKETED in the past month with people searching for Christmas-related stuff on Pinterest.
I wholeheartedly believe that wire ribbon is faster and easier to use than curling ribbon. Check out this post to see how you can make a “fancy” bow in less than 60 seconds.

NO-FUSS CHORE CHART AND ALLOWANCE SYSTEM
Ah, yes. This post was so popular this year that it attracted my very first troll! I’m going to write a blog post about it. LOL!
This very chore system is still in use at our house. Check out the post, where you’ll be able to print off your own copy of the chart I created for my kids.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED FOR MASTECTOMY RECOVERY
This post made the list last year, as well.
This is a very specific article that many of you will (hopefully) never need. BUT…please know that it is still here and that I keep it updated in case (heaven forbid) you or a loved one ever need a survivor’s perspective on this topic.
Check it out here or pin it.

ONE YEAR AS A SURVIVOR
This post outlines what no one told me life would be like after cancer treatment was over. I wrote this post mainly as a therapeutic reflection…I had no idea that it would resonate with so many people.
Again, it makes me sad.

The most widely-read article on my blog this year was cancer related. It describes what I had on hand before, during, and after every chemo treatment.
I hope that you and your loved ones never need this information, but please know that it’s here if you ever do.
So…what do I do with this information??
I have struggled to “focus my niche” as a blogger, because I feel like my blog is a reflection of me; since there are so many sides to dear old Stephanie, my blog reflects a few different topics.
If this Top Ten list contained just one type of article, then I would look at dropping some topics and refining my focus. But y’all are still reading a variety, so I’ll keep giving you variety!
I’m going to make things a tad more predictable so that you know when to expect the content that interests you the most.
The plan for 2020 is to start each week with mom-life time savers (“Motherhood Monday”), share my side hustle and money-saving tips a couple of days later (“Work It Wednesday”), and round out the week with cancer-related posts (“Survivor Saturday”).
On top of fresh new content coming your way, I’ve also made it my mission to FINALLY share one of my biggest time-saving secrets with you this year.
I’m so excited for what I have coming your way in 2020. It’s going to be an awesome year!!
What would you like to see more of on the blog this year? Let me know in the comments!
